Simple And Delicious Diabetic Snacks
Planning your meals should be a no brainer. It will cause you to be more disciplined when it comes to meal time as most people just grab anything and everything in sight when they don’t have anything for dinner. It is therefore advisable to have some diabetic snacks in your diet. A snack tends to lessen one’s hunger pains and therefore ask for meals in moderation.
Advisably, meals and snacks should be planned for a week in advance. This way when you are hungry and know what your next meal will be you will be better prepared. I will outline some the diabetic snacks which are both cost effective and delicious as treats. Feel free to share any of your favorites.
Having two whole vegetables in your hand is one thing and having it cut up and laid out on your plate with some fat free salad dressing is another. Non-starchy vegetables which can be eaten raw have always been a great snack. Some bell peppers cut into strips should get your taste buds going. Popcorn in reasonable amounts still remains a favorite for many. Popcorn gives a large volume of snack for the carbohydrate count and should therefore be enjoyed in moderation. Nuts (not salty) also make a good snack in moderation. They tend to contain oil and for this reason a handful should be quite satisfying.
Always be blood sugar level attentive. You should know your body and should adhere to its boundaries and limitations. All your diabetic snacks should therefore be measured and calculative.
Here are some more snacks for you to consider as part of your diet. Most of them contain less than 15g of carbs and should therefore not affect your sugar level.
